LEON FLEISHER
SUNDAY, MARCH 2, 2008 ● 3 PM
Equally renowned as a conductor and teacher, “Leon Fleisher’s playing is wonderfully authoritative – life-enhancing on many levels” (The Guardian, London). Student of the great Arthur Schnabel, he was the first American to win the prestigious Queen Elizabeth of Belgium Competition in 1952. Together with Carnegie Hall, the Boston Symphony, and the Lucerne Festival, among many others worldwide, Fresno joins the celebrations of his 80th year and his gift to music.
