This concert marks the American recital debut of Nikolaas Kende, a special guest from Antwerp, Belgium. A graduate of the Amsterdam and Munich Music Conservatories, he has widely performed in Europe and been praised as a “sensitive musician, poetic, visionary, gifted with big technique, always in service of the music” (La Libre Belgique).

Armenian pianist Vahan Mardirossian returns to the series after his memorable solo recital during the 2005-2006 season. This time he will collaborate with London-based cellist Alexander Chaushian, a fellow countryman who has already appeared in many of the world's finest venues including New York's Carnegie Hall, Boston's Symphony Hall, London's Wigmore Hall and Royal Festival Hall, Vienna's Konzerthaus, and Milan's Sala Verdi.
